Opel, Saturn to Share More Models There's been more and more talk lately about Saturn and Opel collaborating on future models. The two General Motors brands hope to gain synergies across their lineups, and share in their respective markets, by more closely aligning their models. The result will be a set of vehicles that will cater to a customer base that will span multiple continents.

Outlook at GM: Crossover Crowding General Motors, which offers seven crossover vehicles now, plans to double that to 14 by the 2010 model year. GM has said it will unveil a trio of midsize front- and all-wheel-drive crossovers for Buick, Saturn and GMC with seating for up to eight in the 2007-08 time frame. Even more are in the works in a variety of sizes.

Saturn Outlook May Debut in January A new family of midsize crossovers will roll out of a new assembly plant GM is building near Lansing late next year or early in 2007. "They'll have the spaciousness of full-size SUVs, with more cargo and passenger flexibility and better fuel economy than midsize SUVs," Lutz said. The first of those crossovers will debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January.
