Saturn's Charms Eclipsed by its Dealerships (Visit this link)

Jim Jelter from MarketWatch: General Motors, having just watched Chrysler hit the wall of bankruptcy, is scrambling to avoid the same fate. To help beat the clock, the company announced Monday it's "reviewing expressions of interest" from potential buyers of its Saturn brand. No further details are available at this time, but the company hopes to have a buyer for Saturn by the end of the year, according to the cryptic press release. Clearly, it is trying to create a bit of buzz over the brand in hopes of driving up the price. With the threat of bankruptcy looming over it, GM has simply run out of time to further hone the Saturn dealership model. But there are plenty in the industry that believe that model was on the right track, and should have been carried through to GM's other brands instead of becoming just another of the company's missed opportunities.
