Chapel Hill Retailer Expects to Last for Years (Visit this link)
Jim Mackinnon from the Beacon Journal: The Saturn of Chapel Hill dealership, opened in 1990 in Cuyahoga Falls by Ron Marhofer, should be around for years and anticipates taking part in plans to save the brand when it is spun off by General Motors, one of its top executives said. "Right now we have a commitment that they [GM] will continue to build cars through 2012," said Wally Hanson, operations manager for Marhofer who started as a salesman in the Chapel Hill store. The dealer group also opened the Saturn of Belden Village franchise in 1995. The two stores employ about 60. The Saturn dealers' national "franchise operating team" is looking at what is best for all dealership owners beyond 2012, Hanson said. "They are working on our behalf to secure someone for the spinoff," he said. In the meantime, General Motors will continue to honor Saturn warranties and the two Marhofer Saturn dealerships will continue to sell vehicles and service, Hanson said.
