Plight of Saturn is Saddening After Brand Put Tennessee on Map (Visit this link)
Commentary by Gail Kerr from the Nashville Tennessean newspaper: It sounds like a bizarre Stephen King short story: tens of thousands of loyal people from all over the country drive the same brand of car to a small Tennessee farm town. But it really happened: People in the 1990s loved their Saturns so much, they came in droves to a motorized homecoming in sleepy Spring Hill. Those of us in their big sister city, Nashville, watched it all with a perplexed, and rather envious, feeling. The Saturn brand, now in trouble like the rest of General Motors, was unlike any other. It helped put Tennessee on the automaker map: By 1993, Tennessee was fifth in the United States in auto production.
