GM and UAW Reach Pact to End Strike at Outlook Plant (Visit this link)

Workers at the plant that manufactures GM's popular Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook crossovers have been out on strike since April 17. GM cut off their benefits on Wednesday. The deal was reached overnight, said Doug Rademacher, president of UAW Local 602, which represents about 3,000 workers at the plant. "It came down to a dozen key issues," he said. Chief among them was how many workers would be on the floor building crossover utility vehicles at the plant, he said, without elaborating on how the matter was resolved. Local 602 plans to share details of the agreement with members at a 10 a.m. meeting Friday, and plans to hold the vote immediately after the meeting. Production at the plant could resume as early as next week.
