Nine different local organizations have some extra money in their pocket thanks to the Women's Fund of Greater Green Bay. More than $17,000 in grant money was distributed at the Power of the Purse luncheon Wednesday. It will go toward things like child care for English language learners at the Literacy Council of Brown County, and a digital camera for St. Vincent Hospital to document sexual assaults. In three years, the women's fund handed out $45,000 in aid. There were two speakers at the Power of the Purse luncheon. One addressed the world's perspective of ending violence against women. The other spoke about the keys to success - and her keys were found right here in Northeast Wisconsin.
