GM Speeds Product Development to Cut Costs (Visit this link)
General Motors has integrated its 12 engineering centers and 11 design studios worldwide to bring new cars and trucks to market faster at lower costs, said GM Vice Chairman Robert Lutz in a speech here Tuesday. GM expects to save up to $1 billion to develop its next generation of midsize cars, such as the Chevrolet Malibu, the Saturn Aura, the Saab 9-3 and the Opel Vectra.
