LA Fashion Awards to be Sponsored by Saturn SaturnFans.com September 10, 2006 In honor of both style and excellence, General Motors has selected the Saturn Sky roadster as the star vehicle to highlight its presenting sponsorship of the 2006 Los Angeles Fashion Awards on October 20th. Sixteen fashion leaders will be recognized at the second annual event. "We are honored to be a part of this important program recognizing California's top fashion designers, retailers, and innovators. Los Angeles is a city where your style is defined by both what you wear and what you drive," said Randy Parker, regional division marketing manager for Saturn in GM's Western Region. "The free-spirited, forward-thinking Southern California lifestyle that's being celebrated at this event is perfectly emblematic of the new Saturn lineup that features the Sky roadster, the new Outlook and the new environmentally friendly Vue Green Line hybrid." "Needless to say we are thrilled to have such a smart and innovative division of GM support the LA FASHIon Awards," said event co-founder/producer Jennifer Üner. "Saturn set the standard for the automotive retail experience, and is breaking new ground with the Sky, Outlook, and Vue. We are proud to feature Saturn at the LA Fashion Awards at the Orpheum Theatre in October." The slate of 2006 LA Fashion Awards nominees and honorees were announced last month by Laurie Pike, style director of Los Angeles magazine, at a rooftop reception high atop The Standard hotel in downtown LA. A related event will take place at New York's hip Hotel QT on September 15, on the closing day of NY Fashion Week. Those selected for recognition this year include a diverse group of rising stars and industry leaders that embody and shape the energy, creativity, and vision that make Los Angeles a global fashion center.
