This month Saturn will start building Ion sedans with optional body-color roof rails. Plans reportedly call for a slow rollout, beginning with white and then spreading to the rest of the available colors. Saturn is already building Ion Quad Coupes with body-color rails.

The new option is yet another product of Saturn's continuous improvement process. The change is a result of feedback from retailers, current owners, and potential buyers who were did not like the sedan's original two-tone scheme that, depending on the color of the car, featured either silver or gray roof rails. Retailers should be able to specify body-color roof rails when orders are inputted into the system. It will be a no-cost option.
