Plug-in Vue Coming 'in 2009-ish' SaturnFans.com September 13, 2007 Saturn general manager Jill Lajdziak told reporters in Frankfurt at the 2007 International Motor Show that progress was moving along "very quickly," and the brand will introduce a plug-in version of its Saturn Vue Green Line hybrid "in 2009-ish." Lajdziak was in Germany to unveil the production version of the 2008 Saturn Astra hatchback. The compact Saturn sport-utility will be able to travel "up to 10 miles solely on electricity," wrote the Detroit Free Press. The plug-in Vue will be the third hybrid option offered by Saturn. The brand will reportedly build an updated version of its belt alternator starter (BAS) mild-hybrid Vue this fall, followed by a more advanced two-mode hybrid powertrain in the second quarter of 2008. The plug-in Vue "will combine lithium-ion batteries and GM's innovative two-mode hybrid system with the ability to recharge from 110-volt household current," wrote the newspaper.
