New Vue to be Built in U.S.
SaturnFans.com • November 7, 2006

With the formal introduction of the 2008 Saturn Vue only weeks away, more and more details about the all-new vehicle are surfacing. Unofficially, we know that the new Vue will be virtually identical to the Opel Antara that was unveiled earlier this year. The Antara has been featured on the pages of SaturnFans.com before, and – according to industry insiders – the Saturn version will differ only in the emblem on the grill and interior trim. "The sheet metal is shared, as are the fascias and the greenhouse," reports Automotive News in this week's issue. For months its been speculated that when production of the current Vue ends in Spring Hill, Tennessee it would move to another plant in North America, with the leading candidate being GM's Ramos, Mexico facility where the Chevrolet HHR is currently built. Not so says Automotive News. "The Vue will be assembled in the United States." Pricing for the new Vue, which will retain its five seating positions and familiar dimensions, is expected to be higher than today's Vue largely due to the addition of more standard equipment, such as a stability control system.
