Hi ,
I have a squeeling sound that happens when the vehicle is moving and the sound speeds up as I increase speed . It happens about 70% of the time but sometimes there is no sqeel for a while and then starts up again and can keep squeeling for a the whole trip . I was wondering if it could be a wheel bearing or if somebody may be able to suggest something else . Thank you |

Do you have vibration in seatback or armrest while traveling 30 to 55 mph?
You can see a service bulletin in post #14 -- following thread: http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=122316 |

onefunkar ... I always overlook the obvious things - such as loose belts and brake pad sensors because they never happen to me.
In my case the problem is invariably going to be caused by item(s) most difficult to access and expensive to obtain. ![]() And I think I was figuring the pad sensor would squeal 100% of the time and wh04vue indicated the noise was present 70% of the time. I hope for onefunkar's benefit you, or megsaturn, nailed it. ![]() |

Just to mention something. Carrier bearing i believe is in the differential where the driveshaft hooks on. The center support bearing is inbetween the 2 driveshafts.
Do the carrier bearings actually fail in these? or is it only the center support? Center support bearings usually fail constantly in pickup trucks, i usually get around 30-50K out of one in my 92 pickup. then itll start howling again. And thats a beefy bearing used in 8600LB + applications. |

Hi again ,
Thanks for the help so far . I had new drums installed on the rear and while driving home I now had a vibration while over 65mph . The vehicle seats and armrests shake and they didn't do this before the new drums were installed . I took it back and they checked everything that they beleive could have happened from their drum repair . They said the vibration is still there but not as noticable . I drove away and agree that the vibration is better but still there . It's funny but the vibration was not there privious to the drum replacement . I was happy that the squeal was now gone but wouldn't you know it , it has started squealing again after 350 miles were put on the vue . They did do something correct as the squeal went away for 350miles but somehow has come back and is as annoying as ever . Any idea's ? |
