Default Recall Recall Recall

Friday my Aura went in for the recall on the transmission. The linkage cable or what not. Thursday night i took it in, and on my way home i got my mail and there was another recall notice. This one for the BCM for electrical brake lighting thing.

But to the point, on Friday when the fiancÚ picked the aura up from Chevy, they said there is ANOTHER recall starting, this one is for the steering column or something in the electronics. He doesn't remember.

My question is, is this possible a recall on that clunky squeak noise that is common? The steering shaft thing? I have yet to receive another recall notice in the mail.

Would be nice, its rather annoying hearing the clunk noise when turning the wheel and now under 20mph i hear a squeaking sound when turning the wheel.

I got the preliminary notice for the BCM earlier in the week. What the steering recall is is the electric motor assist for electric power steering in some cars equipped with it. The steering clunk noise is from the intermediate steering shaft, while annoying, it is not considered a safety issue.

Lithium grease spray down the ishaft will solve the clunking issue assuming it is not the painted one.

I received the recall notice for the BCM brake light issue in the mail this past Saturday. I wasn't aware the XR's (07, 08 MY) were affected by this.

I took my XR in 2 weeks ago for the ISS issue and they replaced it "under warranty". I didn't ask my service person whether this was under a GM warranty or my GMPP warranty. My guess is that it was performed under the GMPP warranty.

My brake lights were sticking a couple years ago and I am pretty sure I paid a lot at the Buick stealership to get it fixed. Wonder if I could get a refund

if the part# they replaced is the one on on the recall and you have the paper work from the dealer.the awnser is yes you can get reimbursed..you have to fill out the paper work and have it processed usualy take 30-60 days depending on the gm claims center's workload...
...
shure you can trust the government, just ask us indians all about it...

heavy line the final protective fire line of the dealership

I had this issue last summer (for months before realizing that it was why cruise control wasn't working sometimes... gah).

I did some reading and found that I fixed it just by unplugging and replugging the appropriate connector under the left panel of the passenger foot well. The friction of reinsertion removes the corrosion.

But yeah, def getting that one fixed more officially.
