Default Floormats?

I'm having a hard time finding floormats that aren't liners (weather tech) or just rubber. I'd really like oem style mats for the car. I ordered a set of Vauxhall oem mats from the UK on ebay (carpet, says Astra embroidered in) but the seller will not ship them because he says they won't fit because the Saturn is not right hand drive. Did they change the floor shape to make it RHD?

Indeed the driver and passenger side mats are significantly different in shape.

The woven mats will do a better job of sound insulation than the rubber mats will. The Astra is a noisy car, so I would avoid rubber mats personally.

On eBay search, you can type "Opel Astra" to get more LHD hits. In Europe this car is known as the Astra H (or Mk5). I see mats from Latvia, Russia, Poland, UK.

Another alternative is to look at junkyards and powerwash some used mats.

Thanks. I did see some LHD mats today on eBay from Latvia. Didn't pull the trigger though as I'd really like some that use the stock hold downs in the floorboards and I didn't see any with the provisions for that.

I knew of the other names you mentioned, but hadn't seen it as the Mk5 yet.

Is there a difference between the 5 door and 3 door mats?

Also is there anyone else in these forums except you? lol

Thanks again!

The factory mat hold downs are awesome IMO.

Not sure. This is the parts catalogue for Opel mats. That might help with the search to buy direct.

I'll check tonight on the carpeted floor mats fitment between the 3 and the 5 door but I am sure that the rubber all weather mats (p/n 19165845) are the same for each model.

Yes, it is possible to go to great lengths to obtain the proper floormats for this car. I turned a vacation in Germany into an opportunity to buy some. Turned out it was easy when I happened to be sleeping less than 80m from an Opel parts counter for three nights.

I have a three door and was presented with three choices of tuft, as well as a rubber set (already had some nice ones like that from Costco that fit surprisingly well). I wanted something for the dry months, so they put me though my paces with the selection. I chose a deep graphite or black set with the highest pile available. An Original Opel part made in Poland, so hopefully you might find some online from there. Shipping costs these days is prohibitive from Germany.

The set I ordered was part #9163197, Velour Fussmatten (I took pictures of the packaging label in case anyone here might need the info).

I'd use Google Translate and copy and paste a message in every appropriate language to everyone selling them on EBay in Germany, Poland, Romania, Austria, etc. You never know what others are thinking and they just want to move a product and get it off their shelf. So they might eat some of the shipping to move it.

Viel Gluck!

I checked the floor mats between my 3 and 5 door Astra and, not surprisingly, they are exactly the same in fit, form and function.

I purchased my '08 with 1,800 miles and replaced the stock ones with the WeatherTech liners.

If I still have them, I'll be happy to let them go if you're interested.
