I've had great luck with rubbing alcohol ....... pour a large amount in the area then rub it out with a clean white cloth keep flipping the cloth so you always have clean cloth doing the wiping.

Vinegar and water. That's what my carpet cleaner stated.

I do think (well guess, anyway) that automotive carpets are made out of some material that is cheap and light in weight. And whatever the material is, it is difficult to get stains out.

On more than one car, I have gone to dealer and purchased a complete new factory carpet and installed myself. Some cars are more difficult than others. My Dodge Caravan (used) - for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to get the back plastic panels off to get new carpet in. I did do it and then sold it. It is amazing what a new factory carpet does to a used car. Makes it look new again.

The dealer/factory carpet can be expensive and is not an option for everyone.

Note: It didn't take me long to get 20% discount at my local Saturn Dealer.

Vinegar and water I agree cept it stinks, at least the alcohol does not stink as bad in a closed up car, leaves no residue and drys fast.

WOW: Hold on now .......... don't be dumping a glass of RedWine on the carpet. Just a large amount of clear rubbing alcohol. If you think you put enough on add some more it drys very quickly so you have no worry about how wet it is.

Pour it on it's cheap.
