2000 L-Series 2.2L Sedan
Default Camshaft condition prior to valve lash/lifter replacement

There is lash/lifter noise coming from the cylinder head. I have a set of lashes/lifters with me, but before I drop them in I'd like members opinions/comments on what they see in the pics attached with regard to the condition of the camshafts presented. I have verified that there is lash/lifter noise emanating from the exhaust side of the head. (Many thanks to 02 LW300 for directing me toward how the noise could be found!) Listening to the head with a stethoscope I could hear one lash bad, but there may be more. Indeed, from the ambient noise heard it seems that there is more than one of them which need replacing. Nevertheless, from the beginning I'd decided to replace all of them.

Biden/Harris predictions, '21 -'25: weak economy; weakened military; increased terrorism; an emboldened RED CHINA. Sadly, B & H are proving me correct...too bad.

The cam looks good, I would only replace the lifters. Do one at a time and make sure you put the follower back on the same cam lobe. I will work on a tool list to remove the followers easily. I will take some pictures on an actual head. Probably this weekend.
