Default It's good to be home

I have been away from Saturn for far too long. I've owned three Saturns (94 SL2, 95SC2, and 01SC2 LE) but sold the last one about 15 years ago. One the bigger mistakes in my life.

I used to compete in SCCA autocross in STS in my 95 SC2 up and down the East Coast. I founded the New England chapter of the Saturn Performance Owners Club. I have several Saturn How-To's, including a clutch replacement and fuel filter replacement posted to my website, which is still up
https://cristhomas.com/cars/

I've missed Saturn fans, very glad to see it still here. I see some of the old timers are still here.

I am ready to buy my next Saturn. Ideally a 95-96 SC2 with manual transmission. I'll take any color but prefer black gold, and any condition as long as it runs. Willing to travel long distance to pick up for the right car.

Welcome back!

Before my time, but I frequently post your clutch How To link for people asking about clutches.

Ron E. on Facebook has a 95 Sc2, Black Gold, automatic, and needs a little engine work. It runs and drives but smokes, I am unsure of the mileage. But it is complete and looks to be in decent shape. I'll attach a link to this message for his profile. He is in New Jersey.

I think I saw that one Facebook. Would need to do a tranny swap which might be out of my range of abilities. Is there a how to available?

If I can pull off a auto to manual conversion I'm pretty confident that you could. It's not terribly difficult and I was originally reluctant too. You just take your time and chunk it into manageable steps.

In my case I swapped in an engine and manual transmission; it was a 99 SL2 into a 99 SL2 so everything matched up. I swapped in the engine, engine wiring harness and transmission all as one unit. I changed out the PCM too and it's like it came from the factory minus the clutch safety switch. I chose not to install it however I have it in storage should I want to. I learned lots!

Not arguing but the 3 highest mile Saturns I know of are '95s

  • Highile at 729k and counting
  • that guy that Low Saturn posted an odometer pic at 883k many years ago, on the original engine and trans (untouched)
