SaturnSdn, the aura does not have a cabin air filter. None of the aura models, XE, XR, or Greenline have a cabin air filter.

His dealership is just trying to make more money.

They actually tried to sell me one as well.

Even showed me a little laminated piece of paper with "recommended Aura services." Listed on there was a cabin air filter change. The service writer didn't believe me and thought I was likely just another know-it-all-but-not-really Customer.

He verified with the tech that the Aura actually does NOT have a cabin air filter, and it was an embarassing moment for the service writer, definitely worth it. I recommended he double check his "recommended services." Just like the ubiquitous and overpriced THROTTLE BODY CLEANING.

There are a few who have modded in the cabin air filter. I thought of doing so myself.

For those not wishing to cut holes in their Aura air ducts, here is a "cabin air filter" for the rest of you. It is very inexpensive (under $5 for a package of 6) and takes only seconds to install. Another fine 3M product, available at your local WalMart, Target or Home Depot. This is a photo showing the installation process:

Did the Service Manager have a part number for the air filter?
If so, it would be good to order a few of them form the parts counter, then do the cutting in the filter box. You would be sure to have a filter that fit and was designed for the automobile world.
