2007 VUE 3.5L
2007 ION-3 Sedan
Default 2007 Vue aftermarket head unit

I have read on here that people were having trouble keeping the onstar when they insatlled a aftermarket deck. I called a well known shop yesterday and they said they have the parts in stock to keep the onstar. So next week Im going to get my flipout deck installed along with my amps and 3 jl 12inch subs. I just hope everything works out fine. I also asked them if they ever did a install on the 2007 and the guy said they have done a few.

There are parts out there. Metra makes the GMOS-LAN-06 that's specifically for the 07 Vue. I called up Metra and got this part number when I was wondering about the GMOS-LAN-01 sold at Crutchfield. They told me the 06 version is a new part that not many places have yet, but can be ordered. It runs a couple hundred bucks. Metra also makes a unit that will allow you to keep the factory steering wheel controls as well without using one of the models that have an infrared emitter that doesn't work well in direct sunlight. When I just asked what it would cost me for the extra parts to keep OnStar and steering wheel controls at Best Buy they told me about $350, but never specified what parts because I didn't inquire further. Crutchfield will give you 50% off the OnStar adapter when you buy a head unit from them, so I'm waiting til they stock the new Metra part.

As of yesterday (June 2007) Cructhfield still did not carry the GMOS-LAN-06. I contacted Metra's tech support and he directed me to ebay. Still looking...

When I posted my last post in this thread I had called Crutchfield that day. The lady assured me "Oh we carry pretty much every part that Metra makes, so we should have it in no time". Now over three months later you see where we still are...

Autotoys.com has the GMOS-LAN-06 for $109.95 and free shipping, too.

They sell some different varieties of steering wheel control interfaces also. Will run you in the $60 to $70 range.

Don't know how many here have had experience with them, but they seem to be reasonable.

How funny, that is actually where I ended up odering it from. For free shipping you need to use PayPal, no biggie. It arrived the other day.
