Default P0304 and P0507 Codes On 2002 SL1 = Leaking Intake Manifold Gasket at #1 Cylinder

Have P0304 and P0507 codes, compression checked out at 150 psi on #4, while looking online for confirmation of cylinder numbering found out that P0301 and P0507 codes point towards intake manifold gasket. Checked the ITM with carb cleaner at #4 with no change in idle. Moved to #1 and found definate vacuum leak. This confirms my previous experience that misfire monitor is not 100% accurate at determining which cylinder is misfiring.

Verify that your firing order is correct also. You can switch #1 and #4 at the coil and the car will run. With 150 psi in #4 it may not fire and #1 may well be firing even with an intake leak. 150 psi is 30psi below the service limit and you can expect misfiring at idle with that low compression.

Now that you mentioned it, I've had a P0341 code since I've had the car so that could be why it's confusing #1 and #4, considering it doesn't have a cam position sensor. Can you provide a reference for 180 psi being the lower limit on compression? That seems a bit high.

FSM 190 minimum, 180 service limit. You have a burnt valve in #4 most likely and an intake leak. Coil firing order left to right as looking down on it 4-1-2-3.

Clean tight engine is 230 psi or so.

It's been a month since I did the intake gasket and the car is running great. Codes P0304 and P0507 are gone.
