2008 Astra XR
Default 96' SL2 with Hesitation when accelerating

I bought a Saturn, a 1996 LS-2 1.9L DOHC with 127K to be exact. The motor seemed/seems strong and it used about 1QT/2000K. So, after a long trip, I did the works tune up. Plugs, PCV, airfilter, piston soak, changed the oil a second time in 1000mi after piston soak and put in 0W-30 'German' Castrol SYNTEC, used FI cleaner 3X, air-intake cleaner, and Shell VPower once. I didn't bother with the fuel filter since it looked newer.

Well, I also did the wires. And shortly after, I started to have problems with a (mostly) slight hesitation when I press on the accelerator. It only happens when the car is at temp., not when the choke is on for the few minutes after start up. I especially notice it when I press down on the pedal for the first time when accelerating. Then the car momentarily jerks as it seems to stall for a split second, then it comes back and is fine. Occasionally the light will come on, but then once it gets gas, the engine is okay. I also notice that the car can feel erratic when I'm up to cruising speed in at 30mph or 40mph. Other than that, the car is fine, and seems to get good mileage (35mpg in mixed driving). I replaced the wires with AC Delco OEM, but it really didn't help. Any ideas? My mechanic is stumped as well, he thinks it might be "something in the coils?"
