keys won't open the doors

Hi 2005 saturn vue redline . the keys won't unlock the doors or hatch but still turns on the ignition switch. it looks like the keys aren't going all the way into the locks. the question is can these locks be repaired or does anything in the G M line cross over?? the only way to unlock the door is with the key fob

Tried using canned air with an attachment to insert into the nozzle for pinpoint pressurized air into the keyholes? This may move any stuck debris collected over the years of non use. Then try the ignition key again and if it works, either leave well enough alone or use lock cylinder lube. A little goes a long way.

I once had a 2-dr hatchback sports car with a protruding pushbutton to release the rear hatchback, exposed to weathering. Occasionally it wouldn't accept the key to unlock but an occasional spray of silicone would help keep water from seeping into the lock cylinder, done before winter snow and freezing rains would make it nearly impossible to unlock.

Just bought the car? Maybe the last owner lost the keys and had a new ignition lock cylinder installed. If the battery goes dead you're screwed. Can you remove the door lock from the door? If so, take it to a locksmith who can make it fit the key for $20-$40. Or do that yourself by taking it apart and removing or rearranging the pins or wafers to match the key.
