Happy It's official - ORDER PLACED

We placed our order for our new 2007 VUE Red Line today. She will be black onyx with ebony interior, FWD, with all available options (sunroof instead of DVD). We have already been approved for the financing and the order was placed this afternoon. Within a few hours it had already moved to event 2400 "Accepted by GM" and it is now in the system at the factory for when they restart production next month.

It should be built in the last half of January and will most likely be one of the last polymer Red Line VUEs produced. We hope to have it in early February.

I'll keep this thread up to date with event status changes. We're going to have a 'launch party' when it finally gets here and all SaturnFans in the Memphis area (and outside if you're adventurous) are invited!

This is a very exciting day for fotovue and myself. After his 2004 Red Line VUE was totalled, we weren't sure if we'd be able to get our new VUE before production in Spring Hill ended due to insurance hold-ups. Luckily, we were able to proceed on due to some nice Christmas gifts and bonuses.

So now we will have had one of the first built, and one of the last built!

We have some fun plans in place for when we receive our insurance settlement (will likely be several months from now, we've progressed to the stage of hiring a lawyer), but expect great things out of this VUE! Our first plans include a full set of emergency lighting, and headrest monitors connected to a rear-seat DVD player completely independent of the factory stereo setup.

Congrats! A friend and I own a company called AO Lights and automotive emergency & warning lights are one of the product lines we specialize in, namely Whelen and Able2 SHO-ME among a few others. If you need any help picking items for the Vue or need to get an idea of pricing please feel free to send me a PM. I'm currently trying to decide what parts to install on my own RL as a "demo car." I'm still on the fence between an undercover strobe kit or a full LED kit (can't use a bar since it's my daily driver).

Sounds like a plan... It might be good to visit Spring Hill one more time before they shut down Saturn production.

I'm at 4200 miles in 8 months. Really racking up the miles...

Well, our VUE has been yo-yoing through the events. It went from "accepted by production control" (3000), back to "accepted by GM" (2000), then to "preferenced" (2500), then to "in-system return" (2100), then to "plant cancel comfirm" (2097), then to "order on hold" (2090), all in the last three days of the year.

Then two days ago, it went to "remove hold-resend to factory" (2080), back to "preferenced" (2500), and finally back to "accepted by production control" (3000) which is where it's sitting at now.

Still no target production week.

Congrats on the new Vue. I bet you can't wait to get behind the wheel. Are you trading in any of your current Saturns?

We'll be either trading or private selling (hopefully the latter) his 97 SL2 that we bought for $700 right after the accident. It's got a lot of minor issues that we just aren't interested in fixing because we're about to get rid of it. My manager offered $500 for trade in, we'll see if we can get $1000 out of it. It runs ok, it just has no A/C, needs tires, and needs a new thermostat.

Congrats to your impending arrival!! ...too bad it's due to loss of a loved one.
The better half and I hoped to get a our second RL (A new '07) when I'm done paying child support in June, but that seems to be falling thru at the moment.
A quick side question for you; I was told our '04 RL was the first ordered and delivered to a buyer in Wisc. Since you seem to have the inside track, is there a way to confirm what I was told?
Good luck with your new RL!

Spaz - Any idea why it's jumping around? Do you think they may not have enough parts to build a Red Line?

Last time I was inquiring for another Red Line owner, they have an occasional shortage of RL rims and it would automatically put a hold on the vehicle build until the rims are in stock.

What ours was held for, no clue. Factory doesn't even begin production until the 16th.

Spazie,

Hello. New to the forum here (1st post). Yesterday, I just orderd a 2007 RL VUE. It is black, AWD, with all options except DVD! The wait has begun!

A question. How are you tracking the production status of your VUE? Is this something anyone can do? I would like to indepedently monitor its progress myself instead of having to wait to hear from the dealer.

Thanks!
