Default Transmission problem

working on a 99 sw2 automatic the trans shifts fine but when it warms up and gets hot the trans starts shifting hard and then acts like it will not shift out of low gear

Default Re: Transmission problem

Is this vehicle new to you, with unknown history? If so, I would start by checking LP to see if there is an obvious problem there (after checking fluid level, of course). If LP is OK, then change fluid and filter and see if that helps. Use only Dex3/Mercon fluid, no Dex6.

If getting known-good fluid in there doesn't help, then this is probably going to end up needing the valve-body replaced.

Do you have access to trans live-data? That would help to eliminate other problems before throwing a VB at it.
