Default 1995 Saturn engine swap questions????

Hello, I recently swapped a 1995 dohc engine into a 1995 dohc car. It runs and drives but runs rough. I do understand you need to swap ecus, but my car had the pink plug ins and my dohc ecu has the blue plug ins and they do not plug in. looks right but the ribs are not in the right spot on the plugs. Also, why does the gauge cluster need to be swapped from the dohc? And someone said the fuel pump should be from the dohc also? Please help me out. Thank you in advance!

Was there a typo in there? A '95 DOHC engine into a '95 DOHC car shouldn't be much of a problem. Was the trans changed from manual to auto (or vice-versa) at the same time, is that the real difference?

did you swap transmissions too? The dohc trans is geared differently than the sohc trans.

Need a '95 DOHC PCM to run a DOHC engine.
If automatic, you have to change it to the MP7 (dohc automatic) if you wish gears other than P and N to work.

Trimming the anti-idiot tabs on the PCM connectors only works on compatible years (probably a nicer name for those silly things but I like that one ) using other than a '95 PCM is not a compatible with '95 year.
...
The proper way to fix a S-Series automatic is to replace it with a 5spd O:)

as stated, both cars are 95s. I will trim idiot tabs n see what happens. But why does the cluster need to be swapped? And the fuel pump?

Because the DOHC markings goto 130mph and nearly 8k rpms in the same space the SOHC's goto 110 and 7k (even that high?) rpm. The clusters are "dumb" '91-'99, they receive a voltage to move the needle's and the DOHC's expect to be showing a different value than the SOHC's for the same voltage.

No reason to change the fuel pump, but keep the DOHC injectors with the DOHC. Not keeping the DOHC injectors with the DOHC will burn valve's due to lack of fuel because the SOHC injectors don't flow enough to feed a DOHC.
