Who knows.... maybe it only has 12,000 miles on it. Probably not though. I see a couple rediculous posts like that a day on my local CL. It's amazing what people ask for them. I wish I could post comments on there right underneath there post so I could be like "you are out of your f-ing tree".

Wow.. can we say OUCH?

as long as it runs though, I'd say that rear can still be fixed.. hopefully there's not a salvage title on the thing (which there most likely is, given the insurance probably had to total it out .)

I wouldn't be surprised if outside of that, it was in perfect condition. Not only that, but the frame is perfectly intact. Other than a few mangled corners in the trunk, all the panels could probably be replaced. I'm a blind optimist, though.

Are we all looking at the same car? The rear frame of that thing is jacked up.
Not saying it couldnt be fixed, by why? Especially when you can buy an intact car for the same amount of money.

You're right.

I was curious, so I went onto my local craigslist and I couldn't find an S-series for less than $1,800. Price gougers around here.

Yeah that car is pretty gone. The ad should have been for a $250 parts car, and that's it.

A bungee cord on the trunk lid and some lights from the farm supply store and it's good to go.

I had a look at a 2000 SW2 5spd in relatively good shape (compared to that) for $750, makes it look like a bargin.
