Default Wrong Part? - Axle CV boot - help.

I think I got sold the wrong part. I bought a Right & Left FWD Axle for my 2008 Vue (2.4L) FWD Ecotec engine.

And I'm wondering if I need to pull the inner spline on the axle and put it on the new one? before I attempt it, wanted to check with anyone that knows...

The right (passenger) side is in the middle, the new parts on either side...

So, is it
a) bad part and return it.
b) move spline with some sort of puller or bearing splitter tool.

thank you

Did you figure it out? I'm having the same problem. At Auto Zone website it shows CV axle without spline but when i pulled mine out it has a spline on both ends.

Word up to you guys. Youtube is your friend for home car repair. If you can't find it for a Vue, look to sister car Chevy Equinox.

I found the CV joint construction for the 4cyl car for an older Vue on a youtube video. Same design as the latest Vue 4 cylinder.

You do not have to remove the the inboard male spline/intermediate shaft. You need to use a pickle fork or pry bar to dislodge the circlip that holds all CV joints in place as they go into a transmission for example...or in this case a female spline clipped into the male spline intermediate shaft you should leave on the car. This car has an intermediate shaft with male spline that mates to a female splined socket CV joint on inboard side. All said, not much different taking it apart compared to the 6 cyl car with dual male splines on the CV joint.

This video will explain how to do it:
