Default Cruise control?

I successfully transplanted manual trans from my 95 SL2 into my 01 Sc2.

Now the question is is it possible to use either Factory harness and such for the cruise control??

Since your 01 SC2 had cruise, putting in another trans from a DOHC shouldnt affect your cruise. No wiring needed. Have you tried it out yet?

Yes, stock 01 harness in place should work fine. Cruise is computer controlled, signal sent to cruise module under the dash, connected to gas pedal arm. There is no wiring to the engine or under the hood for cruise.

Save your 95 cruise module (under the dash above gas pedal) though, along with the clutch switch. That can be used with a manual trans from either the SOHC or DOHC cars. from 96 up, there is no clutch switch for disengaging cruise - instead. when the computer detects a mismatch beyond a certain range between speed and rpms, it will disengage cruise.

I apologize, I didn't think to mention that the previous owner had make shifted an aftermarket steering wheel in the sc. In doing so he also ripped out the clock spring. I was assuming the other wires with what was left with the switches where to the airbag and ground for the horn, please correct me if Im wrong.

Sounds like you still have the aftermarket steering wheel, no airbag?

Yeah, all that the stock steering wheel had was airbag and cruise connector. Airbag is yellow, I think, though it has been many years since I had a wheel off. Another connector is the cruise on/off momentary switch, and then one for the resume/acc and set/decel

Are you keeping the aftermarket wheel and trying to get cruise working with that, or looking for an OEM steering wheel?

edit: probably the most info you will find on the 95 cruise module with later gen cars will be on this, or related/linked threads. Sorry, it's a bit of a slog to read through, but good info buried in there about that module with later steering wheels. Since you aren't doing a 5th gear swap, a lot of the concerns won't be relevant but I think there was some discussion on the wiring differences

Forgot to mention and way too late to edit post, but the most relevant posts for cruise on that thread will be by OldNuc (RIP) and DIYguy.
