Default Air Cabin Filter

After reading the manual I can't figure out what push tab they are talking about pulling out to replace the cabin air filter. Is this on the passenger's side under the hood? Does anyone have a picture they can show me? My wife's Corolla is so much easier to change...go into the glove box undo two screws and voila!!

It's easy once you know where it is. It's passenger side, top left side of the hood. Right by the windshield. Pull up on the round plastic pins. About 5-7? of them. Pull off the plastic cover and you'll see the cabin air filter.

Thanks...the manual made it seem like there was only one pin. Now it will be a cinch.

the owner manual for my 04 incorrectly shows the filter serviced from the glove box rather than the actual underhood location

Just another cost cutting measure to save costs of updating or just plain lack of attenttion to detail. The air filter is NOT in the glove box, might be for other models where the air gets filter befoe going into the a/c.

In this case, it's under the hood awl, by the windshield.

Another reason not to go by the manual, especially servicing where good ratings for initial cost is more important than long term customer satisfaction.

I am getting ready in a few weeks on our next oil change of also changing the Cabin Air filter. I am thinking of doing a web write-up of it just like I did on my other car a 2004 Pontiac GP.
