Default Am I Missing Something Here?

I replaced my ECTS back in October, with one from a Saturn dealership, and I didn't realize they sold me a plastic one, and it cracked again and now I'm having all the old problems ones again. I just called the same dealership I got the new one from, and asked if they still sold the plastic tipped ones, and if I could get the new brass tipped one instead. The guy told me Saturn never made any other ECTS with different tips, they were always plastic, and that was what they are still selling to this day. When everyone is talking about getting a brass tipped sensor, were you guys getting them from the dealer, or somehwere else? I'm kinda pissed that I have to buy another ECTS 7 months after putting a new one in.

I bought mine from Saturnparts.com, and it was brass tipped. That dealership must have old stock, or got a good deal on the outdated plastic tip ones.

There was a part number I found in one of the ECTS threads for the brass one. I wrote it down and just handed the number to the guy at the dealership, instead of just asking for a brass tipped one. Anyway, he gave me a brass one, and I'll post the old one sometime tonight when I swap them.

There it is. I can't find the old recept I got with the old ECT, and I didn't remember seeing anything about warranty info on the new recept I have. I installed the part myself, will they even guerantee anything if I did it myself?

Typically, the warranty is 12/12. But, since you don't have the receipt, I don't think they'd return it. Also, since it's an electrical part, most dealers won't accept returns on it anyway. Hope this helps, although I realize this was probably not what you wanted to hear.
