Default Needing Help! 1999 Saturn SL2

My car is the 1999 Saturn SL2 that hasn't been drivable in 4 months. Finally It will start and idle fine, but when you put it into reverse it will die if you don't keep your foot on the gas and brake. Same goes for when you are driving, if you take your foot off gas to stop the car it wants to die. Any suggestions as to what may be causing this??

You might start by checking your air filter and checking your idle control valve.

Is your service engine soon light on?

Have you ever replaced the ECTS?
What brand plugs? How old?
When were the plug wires replaced last?

And..put your location into your profile.

You may consider replacing the fuel filter and checking plugs and wires as mentioned in other posts. Another consideration may be the Throttle Position Sensor. If you have your foot on the brake and the auto transmission is in Drive, feel rough idle, then this may be a good thing to consider.
