Default Where is the ATF refill hole?

I accidently drained some ATF fluid thinking it was the oil drain. Now where is the refill hole so I can put back the amount I drained? All I see is the dipstick for the ATF. It's a 99' SW1. Also, which ATF fluid at Walmart should I get?

1. Pull out the dipstick.
2. Using a long neck funnel, add fluid at the dipstick hole.
Add only enough fluid to bring the fluid level up into the middle of the cross-hatched area on the dipstick.
3. After adding fluid, recheck fluid level.
4. Push the dipstick back in all the way.

DEXRON-III may be substituted if Saturn transaxle fluid is not available.

While you're at it, remove and replace the filter. Might as well do it now since all the fluid is out. Then you're good to go until the next tranny service.

Is the trans filter a dealer only part or can I get this at Napa or Checkers? How much fluid should I buy for a complete fluid change?

I've used NAPA trans. filters without any issues, I am thinking 5qts fluid should do, seems like I usually get about 4 1/2 out. The NAPA brand fluid worked fine too. Filter is around $10, with fluid you can do the job for $20-25 total.
A filter wrench may come in handy for breaking the old filter loose.

In the past I bought Fram trans filters for it at AutoZone. They were never cheap from what I remember... ~$11.00

Dont forget that when you check trans fluid the fluid should be hot, engine running, car on a level surface.

Saturn recommends checking the fluid several times in rapid succession to get an accurate reading.

Napa filters are fine, and any brand ATF will work. Wolfman recommends Mobil 1 ATF(synthetic)

Just dont buy ATF+4 fluid (7176 fluid), which is for Chrysler vehicles...

And, as an additional suggestion, when pouring in the ATF fluid, do it very slowly, for should you pour quickly, the small size of the funnel, will result in a 'burp', with the fluid quickly backing up -- and splashing out.....

Some say you should remove the car's magnet with an aftermarket filter, if the magnet's still in there. I believe it helps flow through the filter, and the magnet is only necessary until the first tranny service. The magnet will be right where the filter threads on. If it's there, it's most likely covered in a ton of metal filings.
