Default 03 vue throwing codes

Hi my wife's 03 vue AWD 3.0l 180k has been throwing codes and tripping the ses light. The codes are P0171 and P0174 both are on bank 1. I suspect a dying O2 sensor. Which one is Bank one front or rear?
Any other suggestions are welcome.

P0174 is bank 2, P0171 Bank 1, When i had these codes this is what fixeds it for me. The upper intake manifold splits in two. when i had this problem i re-secured the top of the upper manifold. ( not the upper and lower manifolds although this should be checked also). Attached pic shows upper been removed from lower. screws on top of upper is what you want to check. There are a lot of things to check . not even sure an O2 sensor is going to help you. usually an air leak problem.

hawthorne - are you referring to the cover that exposes these Intake innards?

Yes that's the one , Thats what fixed mine. But the codes usually means its getting un-metered air from somewhere, or funky MAP sensor

Hi
Another thing you can do is spray brake cleaner around any possible leaks and listen for an increase in rpms. people also use propane to find the leaks but i prefer not too.

I used starting fluid to find my leak. They sell it at Walmart.
