Hi All,
Thanks for all the help with our 4 Saturn cars.... (2002 SC-2, L200 2.2L, Sl-2.) I am prepping the L200 Ecotec engine to live longer for my daughter. I have the engine covers off and the crankshaft at 3 O'clock. Now how would I go about removing all the timing chain parts and then get the balance shafts aligned so that everything will work together....The post by Low Saturn has been very helpful. But I don't know how to do the balance chain.... ![]() |

According to Alldata the intake side balance shaft timing mark should point straight up, the exhaust side balance shaft timing mark should point straight down, and the chain is installed with the colored links on the marks with the crankshaft with #1 piston at TDC (crank keyway straight up). The odd colored link goes on the crank sprocket.

One question...the drill bits how do they fit in or do I have to disassemble more...to me it looks like the head is in the way....
The engine is now at TDC with the key-way facing up and the pistons pushing the straws up to the max height. So then I will start the disassemble of the chains/tension ers and chain guides. |
