Default Parking Brake Adjustment

Hi,

I've been trying to adjust the parking brake on my '96 SL2. It has ABS and the 4-wheel disc brakes.

When I remove the center console, I see two cables leading up to the parking brake assembly. How do I loosen and/or tighten those cables? I see two little "knob" looking devices. Do I adjust those? What tool should I use?

Thanks!

If you have a look at the park brake handle you should be able to see the cable adjuster there.

He means after you pull the cover off the handle. There's an adjustment nut doodad at the base of the handle.

Found it, thanks.

I noticed that the LR caliper does not release the cable as much as the RR caliper. I guess the spring is just getting weak on that side?

Just to be safe, I set the parking brake a tad looser just to make sure the pad won't drag too much during normal use. I have it loosened enough so that I would need to engage the parking brake six clicks in order for the car to not roll in R.
