Default Wheel bearing + grease gun + needle = good?

1, Is there a way to add grease to a wheel bearing using a needle attachment on a grease gun?

And 2, can I use grey moly bearing grease to grease the clutch gear linkage?

Cheers!

I have no experience with the "Saturn" bearings, but I do with other GM front drive cars, and you can't add grease to any of the front ones. If you tried I think you would, at best, poke a hole in a seal that then might leak. If there's a problem with a wheel bearing its best to just replace it as they are sealed and can't be serviced.

I have used a needle on other bearings but never tried it here and also the last grease you want to use in a wheel bearing is something moly based. (moly and roller bearings do not mix well)

On the first question I think not.

On the second, it's a hydraulic clutch, what are you thinking about greasing???

Bummers on #1.

On #2, I want to grease the linkage shaft below the air intake and to the left of the transmission dipstick. I sprayed some cleaner on the dipstick and I think i got some on the linkage removing some grease. I want to add some back. I figured I could do that with a needle attachment, but I'm not sure the grey moly grease is ok for that. I used the grey moly in the tie rod ends, but I don't know if it is applicable for this. Haynes recommends greasing the linkage regularly, but doesn't specify how or what to use.

The shift cables. I use lithium grease but, I wouldn't think it would matter much on those.

Moly grease has little bits of moly in it and it is great for ball joints, tierod ends and slip joints but deadly to bearings. I personally do not think the needle greasing is a bad idea only the choice of grease.

This sounds somewhat good. What type of grease would be ok for this? As others above have noted, accessing the bearing might not be doable. I thought I read somewhere that someone regular greases the bearings with a needle. That person is able to open the bearing just enough to stick the needle in. I assume, however, that that necessitates taking apart the wheel assembly.

Could I use white lithium grease in a spray can? I bought some, similar to wd40, but spray-able lithium grease.

I have some of that. You must have been to Harbor Freight. It should work fine.

Interesting. Motor oil has moly in the additive packages. Havoline especially has a decent amount of moly. Why isn't the moly harmful to the bearings inside a motor?

I've been on BITOG before so I can answer that. Oil has special additives to keep the moly suspended in the liquid. Grease doesn't.

Both front and rear bearings on a S-series do not require maintenance. If they are bad, just replace them.

Not only that the clearance in a engine are generally a lot bigger than a roller bearing under extreme pressure and there is no "film" thick enough to safely suspend them without damaging bearings. Production tolerances in a good roller bearing makes engine tolerances look very very sloppy.
