I implore HPTuners on a monthly basis for Ion 2.2 tuning. They keep saying "sometime", which leads me to believe I might have more fun getting myself a motorcycle rather than spend $6000 on car parts. No tuning = no forced induction.

i havent boosted or gotten nitrous yet due to the lack of tuning.
i was going to get nitrous last summer, but then when i found out that there are some dangers with the limiters, i stayed away from it. if there was a way to tune the 2.2, i would definantly boost or run spray

If there was tuning, id easily throw down 700+ on it which is about what the base price is right? Im going turbo once a relatively cheap way to tune comes out.

Dunno what limiters you're talking about, but if it's rev limiter that's why you go w/ a "fool proof" setup and do WOT switch w/ RPM window switch so it can't come on unless WOT and w/in the right RPM range.... pretty sure this is what schizzo is running and he's eating redlines daily in FL. was the setup I was going to go w/.

been through this deal many times on cobaltss.net

while it would be nice I don't think any sub 07 L61's are going to have HP Tuners support anytime soon. I would definitely like a custom dyno tune but will probably look elsewhere at places like Tune Time Performance where they can provide somewhat of a tune even though I won't be able to fine tune it on a dyno

yeah and tuning with nitrous won't get rid of any limiters

unless you're concerned about the governor in that case it can be pushed back

IonNinja, I emailed Tune Time and they told me $400 for about 12 HP/16 TQ. How did you come to find that company? Do you trust them?

which is why you put an RPM window switch on the nitrous so when you're 100rpm below cutoff, nitrous stops.

does anybody read my posts???

I heard of them on cobaltss.net, one of the supporting vendors on the site said they were now offering a tune for the L61's. I don't know exactly what they are using to tune our ECM but they say they can do it. Would just need to provide them with a list of mods and they should be able to do a base tune. I'm hoping that I can get dyno'd and send them that so that I can get as good of a tune as possible.

I don't know anything about the company, never heard of them before but there is a local guy here with a Cobalt SS/SC that got a nitrous tune from them and he said even without the bottle on his car pulled much harder than the Intense tune he had before.

If everything seems legit thats probably who I will go for...

There is that company advertised on saturnmotorsports.com that supposedly can do that for our ecm's. Its been on there for at least the last year. It sounds like you send in the ecm, they tune it, then send it back.
