2002 SL1
Default Please help me ID this warning light!

Guys -

I bought a 2002 Saturn SL1 last December (without a manual) and in the last month I've been getting a red dash light that looks like two hills (with a valley in between) and an arrow pointing to the valley. Can anyone tell me what this warning light means? I've asked at Autozone twice and no one knows. Please help! Thanks!

Sounds like a low coolant light. Check the level in the surge tank.

i do beleive that is water and an arrow showing you are low on water. coolent that is. it may not look real low in the resevoir, but even if it is just a little low, the light will come on.

You know you can buy a manual on ebay if you want one (good idea)

all stock for now (nothin' wrong with that either)

I'll miss my Saturn, from the AEM CAI to the rear main oil seal leaks to the giant APC stickers on the side (sarcasm)

The light will come on if you park with the Passenger nose tilted up in a steep lot. The light usually goes out once it is flat again. You might have a loose wire or bad switch.

I guessed coolant also. Get a manual like everyone else said it's important. Also, if your car is low in coolant and you live or travel in 32F or below climate but a coolant tester to make sure the mix is concentraded enought to prevent a freeze. Coolant tends to get watered down if a leak has been going on for a while and someone keeps adding water only. When adding water I recommend buying a bottle of distilled for $1.50 it illiminates minerals that clog and cause rust. I have no problems with my saturn radiator after 9 yrs and 108K miles. Also, you can clip a coupon for $50 or less and get the systme flushed and tested for leaks.

It's best to consult the list and a pro - a car is a big investment and heading off problems early is key.
