Dizzy 2001 SL1 Blows EIS fuse

I am looking to see if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have a 2001 SL1 that keeps blowing the EIS fuse(in the box under the hood). The battery was dead and replaced and now the car will start fine and run for a while(anywhere from 2 minutes and 30 minutes) but then blows the 10A electronic ignition system mini fuse. The engine then suddenly shuts off. I don't have a wiring diagram so I don't know what is all connected to the fuse. Can anbody help please?

Thanks!

You have one or all of the following, bad coil one or both, or bad ICM. The ICM is what the coils are sitting on, Ignition Control Module. The coil resistance tower to tower is 8K ohms, check both of the coils and if they test good then as you do have spark the primary also is good. Instead of buying a new ICM right off as they are expensive (125.00 aftermarket) go to the J/Y and get the entire unit, both coils and ICM and swap it out. The EIS fuse only feeds the ICM module. Unless you have a pinched wire that is about all it can be. Unplug the module and turn the key on and see if the fuse blows. If not its in the module. If it does then its in the wire.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the guidance, this gives a real good place to start. I'll post if I can figure it out.
