Intermittent rough idle
Hello. I am a new member with a 96 SL2 with about 96K miles on it. In searching through the forums, I am comforted to know I'm not the only Saturn owner who burns oil and has the car clunk into reverse now and then.
However, I do have a new issue. In the last few days, the car at idle will have the RPMs drop down and feel like the car is going to stall. This only happens, though, when the car is in gear. When I shift to neutral, it idles with no problem. Sometimes, the "sputtering" continues longer then other times. Also, once in a while, when I accelerate from a stop after the car has done this, it acts as though it's "flooded" (I know, it's fuel injected, but that's just how it feels ), sputters a bit, then takes off. I get no engine light on the dash when this happens. This issue is intermittent, and doesn't happen all the time at idle. The plug wires have been replaced within the last year. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
