2000 SL2
Default Parts from 1997 SL2 --> 2000 SL2

Greetings Saturn hive mind....
My 1997 SL2 Manual with 305,000 miles cannot be maintained anymore. She's going to the pull-a-part yard shortly. I'm going to take over daughter's 2000 SL2 auto-tragic with 184,000.

I've been over the swap guide. Don't see a lot of overlap between Gen 2 and Gen 3 machines. So, I'm going to get specific.

1. Are the window motors and/or scissor-mechanism interchangeable? Dead one in 2000. Can I use one from the 97?
2. The wheels on the 97 has pretty new-ish tires. The 2000 has some curb rash on two wheels. Swap those?
3. Anything else worthy of salvaging from Gen 2 for this Gen 3?
Thanks in advance.
Trey

2001 SC2
Default Re: Parts from 1997 SL2 --> 2000 SL2

My Gen 3 SC2 had the worst seats of any S-Series I've ever been in, including the faux-leather things in a '93 SL2 that I freaking hated because I'd slide around in the corners. Front seats are all interchangeable, though the buckle that bolts onto it changes in either '99 or '00 so swap that as a precaution. I kinda doubt all Gen 3 seats are that bad, but I will never get another Gen 3 (only got that one because it was super cheap and claimed to only need the clutch replaced).

Tires & wheels are all interchangeable. Brakes/suspension/steering too.

I believe the door frames and glass are '96-'02 but the electronics inside and the external/internal skins are '96-'99 and '00-'02. I'd double check Rock Auto's interchange first for the window motors. They'll likely be hard to get as they're door specific.
