Default Clutch Hydrolic Help

So my car started getting hard to put into first gear. And when at a stop light if left in gear with the clutch in it felt like it was trying to go. So I replaced the Master cylinder/Hydrolic unit. It felt good for a day then same issue. I pulled the unit out and the two plastic placment tabs had come off and the rod was all the way out. The tabs werent broken so I placed them back in the clips and put it back together. As soon as I pushed the clutch in I could hear the clips pop out again.

Did I just get a faulty unit or am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated.

The plastic clips are there as a one time use to keep the rod in place before the hydraulics are installed the first time. Once you hit the pedal the first time, the clips break. That is their only intended purpose. Did you actually test your old hydraulics and make sure they were faulty or are we just throwing parts at it hoping it fixes the problem?

Always post your vitals in every new thread

Your problem points to a worn pressure plate NOT fualty hydraulics (originally, however now it may be both).

Youve pretty much just stated you failed the creep test along with having a hard time to get into first gear. A new clutch assembly is in order

This thread has a graphic the shows clutch hydraulics diagnostics, and will help differentiate among possible problems.

As a new member (welcome), and if your car is 2001 or older, be sure th check the ECTS (and connector) as a good preventive measure. See the first two threads in the How-to Library forum for details.
