2001 L-Series 3.0L Sedan
Wrench 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Fog Lights (Parking Ones)

Has anyone else had problems with their Fog Lights just randomly not working regardless of fuses?

I have checked all the fuses; I replaced the bulb that I pulled out to test and will replace them both at the same time.

Are there any other places I could look or causes that could prevent the Fog Lights / Parking Lights from turning on when the engine starts?

This used to be automatic for me!

Any point of reference for a solution or an idea spark would be incredibly helpful!

Thank you!

~ Brandon

Default Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Fog Lights (Parking Ones)

I don’t think the 2001 has automatic headlights standard. It was optional until 02 when it became standard. My switch says auto/park/on. The base 2000-2001 switch says off/park/on.
My 02 has daytime running lights which burn the high beams in series so they run at 6 volts. All 2000-2002 models have orange lights outside of the headlights. They are also the turn indicators, dim for running lights and bright for turns.

Fog lights are optional on these models and have a switch on the dash just left of the hazard flasher switch. The fog lamps are very low and at the outside ends of the front bumper next to the lower grill. The fog lights when turned on only work with the low beams.

The sensor on top of the dash controls the hvac and the automatic headlights.

Again read your fsm.

Wrench Re: 2001 Saturn L300 - v6 3.0 Liter - Fog Lights (Parking Ones) [SOLVED]

After reading some of the trouble shooting data; I realized the FSM continues to talk about a fog switch.

I found it and now I know what it does and it fixed my non-broken fog lights!

Glad it all worked and left some good knowledge too!

Cheers everyone!

02 LW300,

100% Accurate to what I just discovered! Thank you very much and I posted the FSM diagrams to assist others in the future also.

Glad to know you're 02 LW300 has auto fog lights though; nice feature!
