I've done the valve body/shaft nut process to no avail. Time to cut the line
before I reel a shark in my row boat and it eats me. I have someone with a 1994 SL1 auto. trans. for a 2.2L motor. Will it swap out with my 2000 1.9L? They blew their motor and got another with the trans. on it and want it gone for $50.00. If not, does anyone want it? What MP6 year range will work. Thank you kindly.... |

Non existant. All s-series have a 1.9L motor. At best with a boring its 2.0L
You need an auto transmission from a '98+ s-series. However you did not post your vitals. So if you have a DOHC then it has to be from a DOHC car If you have a SOHC it has to be from a SOHC car.

Thank you. The top of the valve cover just says "OHC" so I'll get the number off the trans. Tks again.... Mike

Just noticed in the title - recipient is a 2000 SL1. That means it has an MP6 tranny. According to http://www.differentracing.com/tech_...gearratio.html , gear ratios for the MP6 changed in 1998, so indeed, you need an automatic tranny from a 1998-2002 SL, SL1 or SC1, or 1998-1999 SW1. That 1994 tranny will need to find another home.
Be absolutely certain about the donor tranny's provenance; any S-Series tranny will "fit", that is, it'll bolt up. But because of the gear ratios, only the above models will _work_. |

Thank you for the info. Almost all of the wrecking yards/tran. recyclers...
said that 1995 to 2002 would work. I would have been very upset if I had put in the wrong transmission. You are a fine and great person... |
