do flywheels make a difference on automatic cars?

the benefits of a performance flexplate for automatic would be smooth out engine idle, accelerate harder, and rpm higher when the gears shift. that would be for heavier ones. lighter ones would probably make acceleration and deceleration of the motor smoother and more responsive...good for racing with a turbo cause the turbo will spool up faster that way. really only for big torque or big HP engines...im pretty sure thats accurate ...correct me if im wrong

Flex plates are for Auto tranny cars. He's saying they don't have anything for auto transmissions.

No problems here. Being a dealer for several brands, we can choose any brand we want for our SEMA project cars. From our 350+ HP Sky to our 500+HP GTO, I have Spec Clutches in all of my cars. We sell Spec 10-3 over our second best selling clutch brand and we work closely with Spec in several capacities. We have never had an issue like the ones described in the links you sent. A few Ion and S customers contacted us after the company (s) from which they bought their Spec clutches refused to help. From what I understand from the people who contacted us, the problems were with the company (s) selling the wrong part numbers. For example, one retailer in particular was selling the SAC-less clutch kit without telling the customer that they need a specific flywheel for the SAC-less models. Now, if they didn't know that the models had changed, it is one thing. They should just swap it for the correct one. If they did know and are simply trying to upsell customers unethically, that is another.

When someone has a problem with any brand we sell, whether we sold it to them it not, we do try to help. That's just good common business sense. I can't stand it when a major Distributor of a brand refuses to take time to answer a simple question to help someone. We get many new customers that way.

Also, if we don't have the correct data in front of us, we take the time to contact our manufacturers to verify data before selling you something that may not be what you want/need. No retailer is perfect, nor can any one of us claim to have perfect data.

We have been a Spec WD since we started, and we sell virtually all other clutch brands as well, from ACT and Centerforce, to Exedy and Clutch Masters. Spec truly does have a great product and provides great service for us and our customers.

Ill vouch for that, its 100% accurate.
I ordered quite a few parts from chad at gravana. I ordered SSBC front + rear brakes, fidanza flywheel, then exchanged that for my spec 2+ clutch, and he was extremely helpful. He emailed several manufactures for me to answer questions, and was even willing to do an exchange.

np Jim, thanks for the response. sounds good. now some more questions - is the spec flywheel lightened or just specialized for their clutches? would a person benefit more from a Fidanza lightened one? Would you be willing to offer the same deal on spec clutch + fidanza flywheel if so? I'm looking at 350whp/wtq by the time i'm done w/ my build, what clutch would you recommend for a, currently, daily driver weekend warrior?
