Have a 2007 Outlook that would seem to have blown a fuse that controls the power driver's seat. The manual says the fuse panel is under the dash on the pass side. However, I've spent almost an hour looking for the crazy thing with no luck. My wife needs to drive this vehicle to work tommorrow, but she can't reach the pedals without adjusting the aforementioned inoperative elec seat. Being a Sunday, our dealer is closed.
Where are the fuses?? (Yes, I've found the fuse block in the engine compartment , but that's not the one I need.) |

Remove the panel directly under the glove box. It should be in there.

I just ran out to look in my Outlook and there is no visible fuse box. I did see a panel cover directly under the glovebox but could see no latch, screw retainer or other fastener to remove it. I figeted around with tugging and pulling on it but it wouldn't budge and I'm not going to force it unless I'm sure that I am not damaging anything.
Sorry I'm no help on this one.

Well, finally found the fuse block. However, I wouldn't consider it "user servicable." There is a small section of the trim panal on underside of the dash below and to the far right of the glove box. A small half moon shaped cut out allows you to pull the comaprtment open - however it swings open perpendicualr to the dash, not down as you might expect.
Lying on your back, looking up into the less than fist-sized hole, you can get a glimpse of the fuse block, but not the relay panel - where I think my problem lies. Guess I'll be trying out the coffee at the dealership in the AM. Just to recap - this failure disabled the driver's power seat, , memory seat function and the back up parking assistr feature. Stay tuned for the verdict. |

You are correct in that the power seat circuit protection devices are on the 'top' side of the IP block, the side not visible from underneath the IP. The power seat circuits are protected by circuit breakers, not fuses. In this case they are using circuit breakers that open when there is a problem (for example a short to ground) with the circuit and remain open as long as the problem is present. The dealer will need to diagnose and correct the problem before the circuit breaker 'resets' itself to close the circuit.
Your description of the IP blocks location and cover is great. That is exactly what I saw this weekend while looking for the one in my Outlook. Ed Nunez 2007 Outlook XR FWD |

All of Saturn's repair manuals are electronic. The secure website that is in use is not available to the general public. Sorry.

FYI - you can find the resolution to this problem in a new thread from yesterday titled "Great Service."
