97 sl2 poor gas mileage
97 sl2 poor gas mileage. I got a code po141 and replaced the cat- conv. O2 sensor. The sensor was black with carbon. Are there problems related??? Or is the car running that rich???

Describe what the code is ...
I have a 97 sl2 as well and gas mileage problems can be a lot of things, most likely being a bad ECTS and connector. What does your temp gauge read? It should be at 3/8ths. Do you live in CA? |

to expand on 97sl2DOHCaut1.9's post, after replacing the ECTS/connector, if it still (and mostly likely) hangs at 1/4 on the temp gauge, replace the thermostat. You want the Stant 14279 or the Napa equivalent.
