Default HELP! I lost the top bolt for my starter.........

Ok so my starter dies the other day. so I replaced it. As anyone whos done this before knows, that upper bolt is a real pain! Well anyway, I lost it, I can't find it and I need another one. So I put the one bolt in really really tight and drive to saturn (yes thanks I know this was a horrible idea, and well it still is). So then the guy says he can't find it without seeing it or knowing the specs of the bolt. So my dilemma is I cant get there without my car, and i dont want to take the bolt out in the saturn parking lot, so i was hoping someone could help me out. anyone know the thread count on those bad booys?

A popular upgrade for the upper starter bolt is .................
to replace it with a exhaust manifold stud ,then all you need do next time...
is remove the nut from the stud ,Much easier ,and you have the stud there as a guide on install ,WIN WIN !
...
Have A Great Day , it is YOUR choice !

Just did a quick search at Partsamerica.com (Advance Auto's site) and found the listing below for starter bolts:

http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductL...=Starter+Bolts

Hope it helps. Maybe gives you something to work with...

BTW this is for a 94 SL2...you'd need to change the vehicle on the site to get to the right set of parts for yours.

I'm convinced that richpin lives in a Saturn junkyard with a laptop and a digital camera. He'll show up with a pic of any part that gets named. See if he denies it.

There is nothing more frightening than ignorance in action.

I'm further convinced that he is approx. 6.5" tall, and has a camera approx. the size of a mento, with a lens made of a diamond. That's the only way I can imagine he can reach the places he does with his camera, and still get perfectly focused, perfectly lit pictures.

Or maybe he has a giant Saturn, of which everything is 10x normal size, allowing him to crawl in anywhere to get any shot of any part. Yeah, that's gotta be it.

It's no problem taking out the top starter bolt and measuring it when your saturn doesn't have a cylinder head on it.
