Default ignition wire/spark plug wire - resistance/ohms

Searching forum, I could find acceptable specs for wire resistance - basically what Chilton says, under 12,000 ohms. But what I need help with is reading the multimeter Googling, I only found charts similar to the one with my owners manual, but no real explanations.

Multimeter has 5 ohm ranges/resolutions:

Range, Resolution
200Ω, 100mΩ
2000Ω, 1Ω
20KΩ, 10Ω
200KΩ, 100Ω
2000KΩ, 1KΩ

Using 2 different multimeters set on 20KΩ, 10Ω setting, I get the following readings (as expected, the longer wires have more resistance):
#1 - 6.55, 6.70
#2 - 6.14, 6.06
#3 - 5.21, 5.18
#4 - 3.36, 3.35

I'm not sure how to translate into Ω or kΩ - do I multiply readings by a factor of 10, 1000, or 20K?

Just for comparison, I measured an 8Ω speaker with the following results:
200Ω, 100mΩ - 7.8Ω
2000Ω, 1Ω - 8Ω (no decimal places)
20KΩ, 10Ω - .01Ω

This leads me to believe factor is x1000, so spark plug wires range from 3.4kΩ - 6.7kΩ, still under the 12kΩ limit. Does this sound right?

I guess the multimeter owners manual expects *some* level of user competency Thanks in advance!

one K.ohm = 1000ohms

and yes, i would be happy with those numbers

From the FSM proper plug wire resistance:
Wire resistance: 1.5k-15k ohms

Thanks for the input, I guess I *was* reading the multimeter correctly, LOL. Interesting the FSM has a lower limit of 1.5k - you'd think only an upper limit to resistance is relevant.
