Default 02 L300 rear spring

So i have an opportunity to test out my own advice regarding L series rear springs.
I have advised other members that the available 03-05 springs should work fine on their 00-02 L series.
The right rear spring on my 02 L300 broke the other day.
The only local JY spring I could find was from an 03.
So this weekend I will install it and see if there any issues.

hi ibran- looking forward to whether your jy 03 L spring actually works. makes logical sense that it would . my 01 just hit 191k and running well like a bad mofo. figure one of the rears will bust around 200k. hope it doesnt when eluding coppas on a tobacco road at 2a. strange that rear coils from a very similar chevrolet model- the malibu dont work. that car has the same ecotec 4cyl as the saturn L 100. any additional thoughts ? thanks tons bob f

One search shows GM rear coil springs are available and fits 3.0L and 2.2L sedans and wagons from the list shown; https://www.gmpartsstore.com/oem-par...xoC9coQAvD_BwE

I've wondered if front coils are similar for both L-series and rear coils similar for both L-series.

Yes they are available.
They fit 03 thru 05. The question is; will the work in a 00-02 ?

Replaced my 02's broken right rear spring with a left rear assembly from a 03 sedan.
No problems were encountered.
A couple of observations, the JY's list the rear assemblies as right or left.
They are in fact the some, and interchangeable.
The 03 spring coil OD is bigger than the 02 coil OD.
11mm vs 12mm. Number of coils are the same. Could not compare free length.
Surprisingly the ride height is virtually the same.
To summarize; 03 and newer rear springs can be used on 00-02's with out issues.
